Meg and Robyn
Robyn and Megan gave a fun presentation on portion size, reading labels, and making good food choices. They opened up a lot of eyes at the health fair with the Plate Comparison display and the Snack Challenge. They handed out a Smart Portion Size Guide put out by Live Well! which is perfect for hanging on the fridge...

Kira and Jason
Kira and Jason were our master menu planners! They also provided lovely spicy squash soup samples (say that five times fast) for all to enjoy. Alongside the menu ideas was a comprehensive shopping list handout to make shopping that much easier. And for those of you who like to comparison shop, Kira and Jason did the work for you!

Kelly
The Live Well! presentation began with each parent receiving a folder entitled "Eat, Play, Live Well" with blog and gmail information. Before the presentation began, Kelly went over informed consent with the participants and explained that this was part of research study...
Presentation Day
Our two-day health Fair was fun and successful! We were set up in the middle school gym with plenty of space and a nice flow. Kelly had a classroom set up with her Live Well! presentation on an hourly rotation. Parents would come through either before or after their parent-teacher conference. Many kids came along too and kept themselves busy with hula hoops and games. Spirits were high--everyone was excited to learn and share...

Getting Ready
The crew is gearing up for our one week prep for the Health Fair on March 16th and 17th. Kelly will present the Live Well! information along with the Family Connections Baseline Home Environment Survey and consent forms. (See Welcome for more information.)
